Frequently asked questions
What is EXIF data and why remove it?
EXIF is metadata cameras embed in photos: GPS coordinates of where it was taken, the exact time, and your camera or phone model. Sharing a photo shares all of that too — stripping it protects your location and habits.
Does removing metadata change how the photo looks?
No. The pixels and dimensions are untouched — the file is simply re-encoded without its metadata blocks, which usually makes it slightly smaller.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. SqueezePix runs entirely in your browser — files are opened and processed on your own device and never transmitted anywhere. You can even load the page, go offline, and keep working.
